In order to implement the Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China and the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China, prevent and control environmental pollution, improve ecological environment quality, promote technological progress and sustainable development of the coking chemical industry, the "Emission Standards for Air Pollutants in the Coking Chemical Industry" are now approved as the emission standards for air pollutants, and jointly issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the State Administration for Market Regulation.

The names and numbers of the standards are as follows:

Emission Standards for Air Pollutants in Coking Chemical Industry (GB 16171.1-2024).

According to relevant laws and regulations, this standard has compulsory enforcement effect.

From January 1, 2027, existing enterprises and from April 1, 2025, newly established enterprises will implement air pollutant emission control in accordance with the provisions of this standard, and will no longer comply with the relevant provisions of the "Emission Standards for Pollutants in Coking Chemical Industry" (GB 16171-2012).
